Reina Sofía Library: COVID19

Information about the library

COVID guidelines

Last September 14th Reina Sofía library opened its doors again for members of the University of Valladolid, following the different national and
regional norms and protocols, as well as those dictated by the University and the recommendations offered by REBIUN (Spanish University
Libraries Network) on the reopening of science and university libraries, in order to obtain the safest working place possible.

From Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 8:45pm.

ATTENTION: From Monday, 26th July, the library will be closed for works.

Any library user carrying a UVa or BUVa card will be allowed to access the premises. They must show their library card to the staff.

We will also assist to any general inquiry by telephone or via email.

The information-and-lending desk possesses a protective screen. The staff has disinfectant products to clean the most frequently used equipment: writing tools, users'cards, etc. In this area, there will not be more than one person at a time.

The building has been reduced up to 50% of its capacity. There are currently 107 working spots distributed over different rooms of the building (check out the tab "Spaces and equipment").

The users can "borrow" a working spot through the library management system, until the library closing time.

Following the indications of the library staff, those spots that have already been used will be marked once they are not longer being used.

For the time being, the self-check workstation is not available.

In order to ventilate the rooms, the windows will remain open as much as possible. If the weather did not allow it, the air conditioning system of the building would be started.

Every morning the library spaces, furniture and equipment will be meticulously cleaned and disinfected.

From 3:00pm to 4:30pm, the bathroom and the working spots are cleaned again.

Since the cleaning staff is not available during the entire day, users may clean the working spots which have already been used once, if they were interested in using those working spots again. For this purpose, they will be provided with disinfectant products and wipes.

The library also owns several hand sanitizer dispensers, which can be freely used. In any case, it is advisable to wash your hands with soap and water.

You musn't pick the books which are located in the free access shelves (which are marked with red tape). You must order them to the library staff.

Books returned by users will pass a 72-hour quarantine before they can be borrowed again.
